Hot to Cold

As a young mother, I knew I needed to hustle. I learned that from my mother - never give up, never give in, keep going. This had impact in every area of my life.

I got a promotion from hot kitchen, to cold kitchen (see previous blog if you’re lost). This experience was great for me. I found connection, healthy challenges and an ability to learn that I am actually able to possibly go into the nursing career.

I enrolled and graduated from the local tech college to be a certified nursing assistant. I soon was offered and accepted a role in my dream area of pediatrics (baby nurse). I would stay here for 10 years. I loved working with kids and families. Kids are so resilient and one is able to see how God works through kids, they have much faith and trust and it is beautiful to watch God heal a child and a family - physically, spiritually and physically.

While working as a nurse aide, I was around all the nurses that had gone through or were going through school and graduated college, which was a great encouragement to my professional future. After working in the department for 4 years, I started prerequisites for nursing school. Throughout all this, God provisioned my every step. I began learning that if a door is meant to be closed, it WILL NOT open. If a door is meant to be walked through, God will make a way!
