What is going on?
If you have read the prior blogs, you know I had a goal in mind and I thought it was very distant and unattainable. I learned there was a way to attain my goal.
I was working as a nurse aide on a pediatrics floor of a local hospital and learned I could actually go to nursing school with much help. I had family and friends that were cheering me on and I found I truly needed that, I like having a community around me.
I had 2 small children, under 5 when I started nursing school. Some how, I found a way to fit all things together. Again, I had great family that was very supportive and loving. It took me a little longer than the usual timeframe because of life. However, I was able to find the strength - mentally, emotionally, physically.
I graduated 5 years after starting and was finally able to work in my dream goal as a Registered Nurse on the peds floor, “baby nurse”.
One year later, my life fell apart. A traumatic event happened, that ended up being very public in our small city. Within 6 months, I was moving 10 hours from my dream home, dream job and everyone I loved. My two beautiful boys were. young enough, they could be encouraged through the move.
Two years, away from my loving family, continually going through the traumatic event, while working nights as a registered nurse. I definitely lost my zeal and love for life. I moved from cheerful, joyful to just getting through the day. Yet, when I look back to that time, 20 years ago, I see how God led, guided, loved, was merciful and graceful.
Two years after moving 10 hours away from my home town, I was moving closer to home. Now, just a few short hours south. I could visit family much more regularly, the boys could see family. My days are feeling much lighter.
