Moving on Up

I am now living a few hours more south. I am also in a leadership position. I thought I could be a full-time minister and full-time leader, but those positions are always in competition. My career had to take the lead for many reasons. However, God was able to use this time for training. I learned about professional performance, presence, emotional intelligence, career success.

I learned many important ways to level up my day to day professional brand. I learned effective ways to communicate with others that would lead to their progress. I learned business operations - how to be informed through effective reporting, how to analyze that reporting effectively and how to communicate what was being analyzed. I also learned how to lead leaders.

This, takes time and practice. Leaders are able to communicate well, analyze and direct. What leaders need more than a micro manager, is a thoughtful guider that allows the leader to think for themselves and learn from their mistakes. Not a leader that will hold the past over their head or knock them down every time they succeed.

God is building me as a leader. I had a goal in this new career - to be a director. I attained my goal and I found it was lonely. I found it was not all it was cracked up to be. I absolutely loved developing others professionally and helping them see their professional talent and would soon find myself focusing on that aspect.

I soon found myself in another life changing situation. This time, my boys are adults, I’m secure financially and I decide I’m moving in a new direction in life. I’m now single, an empty nester during COVID.

I decide it’s time for a career change …
